Saving seniors by making them visible

Dear friends,

Do you know that on Sept. 29, a 74-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Vancouver and another senior, a 70 years old man was struck by a vehicle and killed on scene at the 12600-block of 104th Avenue in the Surrey on Nov 3rd, 2020?

Seniors and young kids account for a higher number of all pedestrian deaths. Recent deaths of our seniors, have shook us all. To respond and to celebrate the Guru Nanak Dev’s gurupurab, through one of our projects this year, we have committed to raise awareness in drivers and pedestrians. Our Global Village is now running a safety awareness campaign. To encourage safe outdoor activities for seniors during many covid 19 related restrictions on social gatherings, we are distributing free high visibility reflector vests for them.

Any senior who needs a reflector vest and / or masks ( including to wear over a turban) can call us (Jatinder Bhatia at (778) 848-1287) to give their information. Our dedicates team of volunteers will arrange for either a pickup or drop off in Surrey/ Aldergrove / Langley area.

Next public distribution of FREE HIGH VISIBILITY REFLECTOR VESTS and FREE FABRIC MASKS FOR KIDS and TURBAN WEARING INDIVIDUALS will on on Wednesday, January 20, 2021between 2:00- 3:00pm at Unwin Park, 13313 68 Ave, Surrey,BC.

To contribute towards this initiative or other community serving initiatives, please get in touch with us. We thank you for your generosity and wisdom as we have been able to serve the community for over seven years only with your generous support, wise guidance and continuous encouragement. (

Together we can, together we will.
